Dr. Yafeng Xia is a Professor of History at Long Island University in New York. He has published many Cold War and Chinese foreign relations articles, as well as authored and coauthored many books such as Negotiating with the Enemy: U.S.-China Talks During the Cold War, 1949‒1972 (2006).
In his talk, Dr. Xia will discuss the significant changes in Sino-North Korean relations under Deng Xiaoping’s communist regime in the 1980s and 90s.
